"Slimetime: Slugtopia" is a live-art, interactive event conceived in 2015 as a dynamic response to the journey of my gender identity and representation of my LGBTQ+ community. This innovative project involves the creation of a welcoming, queer-safe space thoughtfully integrated within a diverse array of host events, including Shambala Festival, Boomtown Fair, Balter Festival, Palace Film Festival, and Mexicancore Festival. Through "Slimetime: Slugtopia," we celebrate inclusivity, creativity, and the vibrant spirit of the Queer community while making a memorable impact on the festival scene.

Slugtopia is an immersive and uniquely queer space inspired by the otherworldly and gender-fluid mating ritual of the Leopard Slug and narrations of Sir David Attenborough. Upon entering Slugtopia, you are welcomed to explore the tangible result of our charming slug hosts' secretions: a mesmerising ultra-violet rainbow slime. This mysterious and luminescent substance gently soothes anxiety; caresses and awakens your somatosensory system, fostering an atmosphere of playfulness, connection, and relaxation to the backdrop of queer discourse.

Wrapped in ethereal organza, surrounded by captivating projected visuals, and enveloped in squishy surroundings, participants are invited to recline and indulge in a delightful, gooey experience reminiscent of those delightful garden-dwelling, oozing creatures that beautifully symbolise the essence of queerness.

In Slugtopia, we embrace the essence of life, the wondrous, gooey fluids that make up our very existence, challenging the societal norms that often teach us to recoil from them. After all, beneath the surface, we're all filled with slime...
